About the charity

Pharmacist Support is the profession’s independent charity for pharmacists and their families, former pharmacists, trainees and MPharm students. Its free and confidential support includes an information and enquiry service, financial assistance in times of difficulty, debt, benefits and employment advice, a wellbeing service (consisting of a Listening Friends helpline and wellbeing workshops), addiction support covering drug and alcohol issues, gambling and eating disorders and a careers coaching service.

Since relaunching as an independent organisation in 2008, Pharmacist Support (previously known as the Benevolent Fund of the RPSGB) has provided over 20,000 acts of support to individuals struggling with a range of issues. These include:

  • personal issues such as bereavement or a relationship breakdown;
  • workplace issues such as changes to terms and conditions or bullying;
  • fitness to practice concerns;
  • financial issues;
  • addiction issues; and
  • pre-registration training issues.

As a charity, and in order to continue to provide these valuable free and confidential services, Pharmacist Support relies on the generosity of those in the profession (individuals and pharmacy organisations). For details on how you can support their work, click here.
