CHANGES TO SEXUAL HEALTH SERVICES – C-CARD SCHEME (13-24 year olds)
As you may be aware, the four Teesside local authorities have recently recommissioned Sexual Health Prevention Services, including the provision of C-Card.
From the beginning of April, the C-Card scheme will be delivered in Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland by Brook Young Peoples Services, with the pharmacy-based C-Card provision ending. (see side tab for Stockton)
For any young people attending your pharmacy for C-Card, there are a number of options available to sign post into:
- Brook: Young people can be directed to the Brook website, www.brook.org.uk, where they will be able to get details of C-Card locations and be able to access online condom provision (if over 16)
- Sexual Health Service: Young people aged 13-15 can be directed to local sex health service where they can attend for condoms, and advice. Young people aged 16 and over can also access the local service website and order condoms online.
